At a called meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 6:00 p.m. on August 16, 1977,
Mayor Murphy presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (4) . Com-
missioner Brumley was absent (1) ..
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear,
that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 6: 00 p.m
August 16, 1977, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Com-
missioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear, and Mayor Murphy (4) .
The next item of business to come before the Board of Commissioners
was the hearing of the grievance filed by Gary Culp, a member of the Street De-
partment, wherein the said Gary Culp grieved that a laborer in the Street Department
should have been promoted to a truck driver position, violating Section 10, para-
graph 10 of Civil Service laws and Article 17, paragraph 3 of union contract.
After hearing the evidence, it was the unanimous decision of the Board that the
ruling by the City Manager be upheld. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (4) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley,
that the public hearing on general fund and revenue sharing monies be held. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor
Murphy (4) .
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
