E File contract with Mathis Plumbing & Heating - Phase I of the Industrial park Sewer Extension Chy of Paducah No. March 29, 1977 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 p.m. on March 29, 1977, Mayor Murphy pre- sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting, to be held at 4:30 p.m., on March 29, 1977, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York covering work done by Ray Black & Son, Inc. from April 15, 1977 through April 15, 1978, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the bus summary report submitted by Kelley Transportation Company, Inc. for the months of January and February, 1977, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner .Puryear, that the bid and alternate bid of Felean Motors, Inc. for sale to the City of an automobile to be used by the Mayor of the City of Paducah, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, I move that the following personnel changes be made: The following firefighters in the Paducah Fire Department be promoted to lieutenants in said Fire Department, retroactive to March 28, 1977: William Walden, Jr. Marion Thomasson Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear (3); Commissioner Brumley and Mayor Murphy voted "No" (2) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Mathis Plumbing and Heating for construction of Phase I of the Industrial Park Sewer Extension, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed Lease Agreement between the City and United Home Furnishings, Inc. to construct a canopy over the sidewalk at 114 North Third Street, which lease has been recorded in Deed Book 592, Page 93 in the McCracken County Court Clerk's Office, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (4); Commissioner Brumley voted "No" (1) . Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, as follows: WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of resolutions by reference to a summary thereof; I therefore move that a resolution approving the application of the Strathmoor Sub- division for permission to connect to the city sewer system and determining the rates therefor be adopted according to law. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, as follows: WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances by reference to a summary thereof; I therefore move that an ordinance accepting the bid of James Sanders Nursery, for landscaping of the Townlift Project, for the sum of $31,323.00, and as appended in full hereto, be adopted according to lays; this being the second and final reading. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . follows: Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, as WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances by reference to a summary thereof; I therefore move that an ordinance accepting the bid of Felean Motors, Inc. for sale to the City of a new 1977 medium size two -door sedan, for the sum of $6,410.60, and as appended in full hereto, be adopted according to law. LOST by the "No" vote of Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear, with Mayor Murphy abstaining. follows: Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, as WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances by reference to a summary thereof; I therefore move that an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Peck Associates, Inc. for architectural services for the construction of a Southside Fire Station, for a sum not to exceed $8,500.00 and as appended in full hereto, be adopted according to law; this being the second and final reading. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . No. March' 29, 1977 175 File Lease with United Home Furnishings - canopy over sidewalk Approve application of Strathmoor Subdivision - connect city sewer system Accept bid of James Sanders Nursery - Townlift Project - landscaping Accept bid of Felean Motors, Inc LOST Contract with Peck Associates, Inc. - architectural services for the construction of a Southside Fire Station 176 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Accept bid of Motorola, Inc. 20 radios & 6 base stations Retire to Executive Session follows: City of Paducah No. March 29,' 1*977 Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, as WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances by reference to a summary thereof; I therefore move that an ordinance accpeting the bid of Motorola, Inc. for sale to the City of twenty mobile radios and six base stations, for the sum of $11,568.98, and as appended in full hereto, be adopted according to law; this being the second and final reading. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board retire to executive session for the purpose of discussing real estate. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Upon conclusion of the executive session, the Board reconvened in the Commission Chamber, whereupon the Mayor announced there was no further business. Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
