Proceedings of Board of Comms ss*oners City of Paducah February 1. 1977
At a called meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5: 00 p . m . on February 1, 1977,
Mayor Murphy presided and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (4) , Com-
missioner Brumley was absent (1) .
Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby,
that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting, to be held at 5: 00 p.m.,
February 1, 1977, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Com-
missioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (4) .
Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby,
that a copy of the Telegram received from Governor Julian Carroll, be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby,
Puryear and Mayor Murphy (4) .
Mayor Murphy offered the following motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby,
"I move that an ordinance entitled, 'AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY ALTERING WORKING
HOURS FOR THOSE EMPLOYEES DESIGNATED BY THE MAYOR', be adopted." Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor
Murphy (4) .
Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, as follows:
WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances
by reference to a summary thereof;
I therefore move that an ordinance establishing the salary of the City
Manager at $27,000.00 per year, and as appended in full hereto, be adopted
according to law. Adopted on call of the Roll,, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (4) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear,
that pursuant to the provisions of KRS 96.740 (1) and Section 11-13 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, that Mayor William S. Murphy be
appointed as a member of the Electric Plant Board , to serve during the remaining term
of his office. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley , Hornsby,
Puryear (3) , Mayor Murphy passed.
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley,
that the Board retire to executive session for the purpose of discussing pending
lawsuits. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Grumley, Hornsby, Pur -
year and Mayor Murphy (4) .
Upon conclusion of the executive session, the Board reconvened in the Com -
mission Chamber, whereupon the Mayor announced there was no further business.
