US 60 TENNESSEE BRIDGE
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the McCracken Fiscal Court has adopted a resolution supporting the
construction of a new US 60 bridge over the Tennessee River.
WHEREAS, the Paducah City Commission recognizes the need for a new bridge
across the Tennessee River for US Highway 60 between McCracken County and
Livingston County.
WHEREAS, the existing two-lane bridge will become inadequate for future
needs.
WHEREAS, a new bridge is necessary to promote economic development along
the US 60 corridor.
WHEREAS, a new bridge will provide for a safer route for the estimated 15,600
vehicles that will cross the bridge on a daily basis by the year 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah that they desire to join the McCracken Fiscal Court in supporting the Kentucky
Transportation Cabinets efforts to fund and construct a new US 60 bridge and requests
the following:
1. That a new four-lane bridge be built to replace the existing bridge.
