AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY FOR
THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF A POWER AND WIRELESS UPGRADE KIT FOR
THE BOMB ROBOT USED BY THE PADUCAH BOMB SQUAD AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING TO SAME
WHEREAS, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that it
has become necessary to upgrade the bomb robot for the operation of the Paducah Bomb Squad
and due to the bomb robot being manufactured by Northrop Grumman, Remotec Inc., and the
only vendor that manufactures upgrades for this piece of equipment; therefore, making this a sole
source purchase pursuant to Sec. 2-659 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
make payment to Northrop Grumman, Remotec Inc., in the amount of $56,565.00, for purchase
of a Power and Wireless Upgrade Kit for the bomb robot used by the Paducah Bomb Squad and
authorizes the Mayor to execute all documents relating to same.
SECTION 2. This expenditure will be paid using funds received from a Kentucky
Homeland Security Grant and shall be charged to Homeland Security Bomb Squad Enhancement
Project - PO 0044 account.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
