HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/27/81Proceedings of Board of Commissioners No. City of Paducah May .27; 1981 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber at City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 1: 15 P.M. on May 27, 1981, Mayor Penrod presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Flynn, that the Executed Copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 1: 15 P.M. on May 27, 1981, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5) . Commissioner Flynn offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah orders that the personnel changes on the attached list be approved: ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT 1. The retirement of Don Vander Boegh, Street Construction Inspector, be received and accepted, retroactive to May 8, 1981. GENERAL GOVERNMENT 1. Marilyn Sams be employed as Clerk -typist for the Human Rights Director, at a salary of $700.00 per month, retroactive to May 18, 1981. REFUSE DEPARTMENT 1. Sylvester Ridgeway, Jr. be employed as temporary collector, at a salary of $3.10 per hour, retroactive to May 18, 1981. STREET DEPARTMENT 1. Larry Shoulta be employed as laborer, at a salary of $5.81 per hour, retroactive to May 18, 1981. 2. Dennis E. Watkins, Sewer Maintenance Man, be promoted to Equipment "C" Operator, at a salary of $6.56 per hour, retroactive to May 25, 1981. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5) . Commissioner Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Ford, that the proposed budget and budget message, prepared by the City Manager, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5). Mayor Penrod offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (a) OF SECTION 12-19, "NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS" OF ARTICLE II "FIRE DEPARTMENT" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized by deleting the positions of Captain -training officer and Inspector; by decreasing the salary of the fire marshal, and creating the position of Assistant Chief - training officer, with the same salary as the assistant chiefs. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford and Mayor Penrod (4) . No. 407 Proceedings of $nnrd of C"nmmissinnPrs City of Paducah May 27 1981 Commissioner Ford offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Viterisi, that the Board of Commissioners go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussions which might Executive Session -personnel lead to the appointment, discipline or dismissal of an employee. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5) . Upon conclusion of the .executive session the Board reconvened in the Commission Workshop - held I Chamber whereupon the Mayor announced there was no further official business. The workshop would now be held. ADOPTED: City Cler
