HomeMy WebLinkAboutSupport of Smart Growth Bill (HB 600)342 RESOLUTION PLEDGING SUPPORT OF SMART GROWTH BILL (H.B. 600) BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH WHEREAS, Paducah has a rich historic background; and WHEREAS, the Paducah City Commission has adopted a Comprehensive Plan to guide development in the City; and WHEREAS, H.B. 600 requires state projects in excess of $2 million to comply with the local area comprehensive plan; and WHEREAS, Paducah has a large portion of residences and business in the Historic Lowertown District; and WHEREAS, H.B. 600 provides financial assistance for the rehabilitation of properties in historic districts; and WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is dedicated to promoting the restoration of properties in the Lowertown District; and WHEREAS, City Commissioner, Gerry B. Montgomery has been appointed to the Kentucky Progress Commission Promoting Quality Growth by Governor Patton. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah supports the efforts of the Governor in promoting H.B. 600, and calls upon our State Legislators to support H.B. 600.
