HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/18/85No. 474 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah December 18, 1985 (Called Mtg.)�_ \V Hearing - Opportunity Zone R 4 F 911 Study & Update r Phillips Park Sewer Construction - Change Order No. 1 V Amend 10-73 - Civil Service Pension Fund V Pay Fire Apparatus - Repair to Pump on Fire Truck No. 1 r Amend 10-49 - Civil Service (Finance) `V Amend 25-4(a) "Police" (Procedure Manual) At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambers, City i Hall, at 5:00 p.m. on December 18, 1985, Mayor Viterisi presided and upon call of the roll, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Coleman arrived late (1). Hearings on applications within the Opportunity Zone were held. Representatives were present on behalf of C & A Designers and PEBCO. At the conclusion of the hearings the City Manager informed the representatives of both firms that the City will proceed with arrangements to finalize approval of their applications. Commissioner Cole offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 1985, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Ford, that the following document be received and filed: 1. 911 Information & Update, prepared by Allie Morgan Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole offered, motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $21,786.41 WITH ASPHALT PAVING, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PHILLIPS PARK SEWER EXTENSION". This ordinance was read in full. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Ford offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-732 'CIVIL SERVICE PENSION FUND', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance was read in full. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Ford, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF APPROXIMATELY $4,200.00 TO FIRE APPARATUS COMPANY FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO PUMP FOR NO. 1 FIRE TRUCK FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT". This ordinance was read in full. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Mayor Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-49, 'CIVIL SERVICE', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Changing the name of Data entry operator to Computer operator, deleting the positions of Jr. Programmer and Sr. Programmer, and increasing the salaries of Computer operator and General Account Clerk. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Mayor Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Cole, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25-4 (a) 'POLICE', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. This ordinance is summarized as follows: Changing date of Manual of Procedure to December, 1985; and deleting paragraphs (a)(4) and (a)(5) in their entirety. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). No. 475 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah December 18, 1985 (Called Mtg.) Mayor Viterisi then read a statement presenting his views in favor of the City and County adopting the 911 System. The Board then conducted a workshop. Items discussed were: 1. 911 Information and Update 2. Police Manual At the conclusion of the workshop, Commissioner Ford offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners go into Executive Session to discuss collective bargaining. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (5). At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board reconvened in the Commission Chamber, whereupon the Mayor announced there was no further business. Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
