HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/31/84No. 350 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah October 31, 1984 Purchase Used Leaf Machine from Raymond Clayton Pay Paul Moore Judgment v V Pay UARCO - Tax bill forms At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambers, City Hall, at 9:00 a.m. on October 31, 1984, Mayor Viterisi presided and upon call of the roll, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Cole, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (3). Commissioners Coleman and Ford were absent (2). Commissioner Cole offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 31, 1984, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (3). Commissioner Cole offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $49000.00 TO PURCHASE ONE USED LEAF MACHINE FROM RAYMOND CLAYTON OF WEST FRANKFORT, ILLINOIS, FOR USE BY THE STREET DEPARTMENT". This ordinance is authorized as follows: Authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with Raymond Clayton for the purchase of one used leaf machine for the amount of $4,000.00 and the trade-in of one 1972 Case backhoe owned by the City of Paducah. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (3). Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Cole, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PAYMENT OF A JUDGMENT TO PAUL MOORE". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Authorizing the payment to Paul Moore for all sums he lost as a result of the actions of the City of Paducah, including the difference in pay between the Chief Inspector of the Inspection Department and the Safety Department, lost wages during the period he was laid off between May 16, 1983, and February 1, 1984, and pension amounts the City would have paid for pension payments, social security payments, vacation leave, life insurance, and longevity pay, and including travel expenses Mr. Moore incurred to maintain his state certification as a Certified Electrical and Building Inspector. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (3). Mayor Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO PAY UARCO, INCORPORATED, THE SUM OF $49892.84 FOR CITY TAX BILLS" be adopted. This ordinance to be read in full. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (3). Adopted: Upon motion the meeting adjourned. City Clerk
