Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah October 17, 1984
At a Called Meeting, of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber,
C.ity Hall, at 8:00 p.m. on October 17, 1984, Mayor Viterisi presided and upon call of the Roll,
the following answered to their, names: Commissioners Cole, Coleman, -Ford, and Mayor Viterisi
(4), Commissioner Grumley was absent.
Commissioner Cole off ered.motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the executed
copies of notices of Called Meeting to be held at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 1984, be
received: and filed. Adopted.on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Cole, Coleman, Ford,
and Mayor Viterisi (4).
Hon..,W, David Denton presented the case for the grievant, Detective J.D. Green, which
.included the testimony of Detective Green, Officers Bryant, Orazine and Haines. At the
conclusion of the testimony on behalf of . the grievant, the Hon. James W. Utter, Corporation
Counsel, introduceed?evidence on behalf of the Paducah Police Department and called as witnesses
Assistant Chief of Police Patterson and Chief of Detectives Keeling. A letter written by
Captain of Detedtives Dowdy was introduced in lieu of his.absence due to a death in his family.
At the conclusion of the above evidence, Commissioner Ford offered motion, seconded
by Commissioner Colei; that the Board of .Commissioners: go into Executive Session for
deliberations.
At the conclusion of the Executive Session, the Board reconvened in the Commission
Chambers.
Commissioner Coleman off ered motion, seconded by Commissioner Cole, that the Board
affirm the grievance of Detective J. D. Green. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas,
.commissioners Cole, Coleman,and Ford (3). Nays,. Mayor Viterisi (1). Motion passed.
