At a Joint Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah and
McCracken County Fiscal Court, held in Courtroom D, of the McCracken County
Courthouse at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2007, Judge Newberry and Mayor Paxton
presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Coleman, Kaler, Smith, Watkins and Mayor Paxton (5). Fiscal
Court members present were: Judge Newberry, Commissioner Renfro, Commissioner
Freeman and Commissioner Beyer (3).
DISCUSSION
AIRPORT FINANCES
Neil Archer, Chairman of the Airport Board for Barkley Regional Airport, gave a
powerpoint presentation of the history of the airport and airport service. The presentation
gave basic airport information, an update of projects and improvements, and efforts to
improve local air service and funding issues.
The Board requested $25,000 per month ($12,500 City/$12,500 County) for operational
support for up to 6 months. They would like to schedule another joint meeting in 90 days
to evaluate their progress.
The City and County both agreed to support this issue and place it on the next meeting's
agenda for action.
Upon motion meeting adjourned.
