At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held on Friday, February 6, 2009, at
4:00 p.m., Mayor Paxton presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the
following answered to their names: Commissioners Abraham, Gault, Kaler, Watkins and
Mayor Paxton (5).
R & F CALLED MEETING NOTICES
Commissioner Abraham offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Gault, that the
Notices of Called Meeting for 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2009, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Gault, Kayler, Watkins and
Mayor Paxton (5).
EXECUTIVE INN
The Board held a conference call with Bill Parsons, Tom Green, and Allen Minor (group
trying to buy and renovate the hotel) to discuss what it will take to get the hotel ready for
occupancy for the 2009 Quilt Show in April. A loan of $150,000 from the City to
Parsons and Green was discussed. Monies would be used to get repairs started on the
sprinkler system, roof, and rooms that have been water damaged along with turning the
utilities on in the hotel. The Commission decided NOT to loan the funds to Mr. Parsons
and Mr. Green.
Upon motion meeting adjourned.
