A RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF JACK PAXTON, AN OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY

LEADER
WHEREAS, Jack Paxton was an outstanding individual and community leader, a member of
the Paducah-McCracken County Riverport Authority, a member of the Board of
Paducah-McCracken County Growth, Inc., a former member of the Paducah Airport
Corporation, a member of the Long Range Planning Committee of the~Paducah Area
Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Board of Leadership Paducah, and Chairman
of Media Day and Race Relations Day for Leadership Paducah; and
WHEREAS, his numerous accomplishments reflected constructive, creative lives that
immeasurably enriched this community and truly represented an outgoing,
overflowing way of life; and
WHEREAS, he gave to each of us ideas, dreams, purposes, principles, plans, vision and
faith, by virtue of which he was a builder of more abundant living for others.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, offer on behalf of its citizens its sincere condolences to
the family of Jack Paxton and advances for their consolation the following
remembrance: "Most of the richness of the human experience is in what is
handed down from one life to the next. That is why we remember the good
things - because they are worth remembering and because we, the living, have a
need to remember. And we have so much to remember about Jack Paxton, and he
will never wholly leave us because we remember."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be served upon the family of Mr.
Paxton by presenting a copy of same to his wife, Mrs. Debra Paxton. Further, a copy of
this Resolution shall be filed with the records of the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky.
