RESOLUTION
We, the Commission of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, do hereby resolve that we support the City of
Paducah's application to the Kentucky Main Street Program

through the Kentucky Heritage Council. ~,'~'

We will support this effort in the amount of
$20,000.00 per year for five years. This amount is to be
included in the budget for Mainstreet, Inc. or whatever name
is determined by a newly farmed Board of Directors. This
Board is to obtain a full-time manager for the program.
We support the four-point approach to the
revitalization of downtown: a) organization; b) economic
restructuring; c) design; d) promotion.
Paducah has an attractive and historic downtown
area with a tremendous potential for revitalization. P,
Paducah Main Street Program and full-time Main Street
Manager would provide the concentrated effort to guide and

promote these revitalization efforts. The Main Street ~~,~;,,,.
office would also serve as the one central voice on downtown
issues.
The people of Paducah want a strong and
economically viable downtown and are willing to work for it.
The Main Street Program will provide the necessary
leadership and guidance for this effort.
