RESOLUTION
Presented to
UNITED WAY
WHEREAS, the United Way began as the Community Chest in
1934 and in 1980 became the United Wa and
Y,
WHEREAS, there are 16 member agencies that benefit from the
United Way appeal, two of which have been added
this year, the Rape Crisis Center and the
Riverwood Group Home (for mentally handicapped
adults); and.
WHEREAS, we want to recognize that this year the United Way
in Paducah and McCracken County has raised the
largest amount of money in its history.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
THE COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH:
That the Mayor and the Commissioners express our
~',, congratulations to this organization far their outstanding
~,~
effort and for all the community work that will be done as a
result of their fundraising.
The Mayor and the Commissioners hereby direct the
City Clerk to make this Resolution a part of the permanent
records of the City of Paducah as an expression of their
appreciation to the United Way.
