WHEREAS, Melvin W. Taylor served, first, as a member of the City's Cable
~~ Television Advisory Committee formed in 1973 for a period of
\ ~ nearly two years, and then was appointed to the Paducah Cable
Communication Authority when it was created in 1974, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor has served with distinction on the Paducah Cable
Communication Authority which is the City of Paducah's cable
television regulatory board and which handles most matters
pertaining to cable television in the city, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor has given of his knowledge, experience, and expertise in
education and vocational training, spending countless hours of
work in the development of programs and policies for educational
access use of local cable television services, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor desires to continue to participate in a less active role, and
WHEREAS, the city desires to maintain the knowledge and expertise that he has
gained through years of dedicated service,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE
COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH:

~?~ That the Mayor and the Commissioners in recognition of the many
~" contributions to the welfare of this community express their sincere appreciation to
Mr. Taylor and therefore move that Mr. Taylor be designated as ADVISOR Y
MEMBER EMERITUS of the Paducah Cable Communication Authority Board.
The Commission further thanks Mr. Taylor for his dedication and service to the
Paducah Community, and hereby directs the City Clerk to make this resolution a
part of the permanent records of the City of Paducah as an expression of their
appreciation.
