RESOLUTION
RELATING TO FORMATION
OF THE
JACKSON PURCHASE
RESOURCE CONSERVATIONAND DEVELOPMENT
FOUNDATION, INC.
WHEREAS the cities, counties, conservation districts and other
interest groups of west Kentucky share many common problems and needs;
and
WHEREAS the Food and Agriculture Act of 1962, as amended from
time to time, provides a mechanism whereby cities, counties, conservation

districts, and other interest groups can join together to form a Resource
Conservation and Development Area to address these common needs; and
WHEREAS the City of Paducah of the County of McCracken agrees to
join with any and all counties of Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton,
Hickman, Graves, Marshall, and McCracken to form a Resource
Conservation and Development Area known as the Jackson Purchase
Resource Conservation and Development Foundation, Inc.; and
That the City of Paducah authorizes the Mayor or his/her designee, to
represent this entity on the council of the RC & D area to take necessary
actions to obtain approval and recognition of the area by the United States
Department of Agriculture.
