RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, there are four operating sanitary sewer districts in Paducah and
McCracken County and a number of sanitary sewer systems operated by non-governmental .
entities; and
~'~~ WHEREAS, there are portions of McCracken County that are not served by
~` sanitary sewers; and
WHEREAS, a consolidated sanitary sewer district would strengthen Paducah and
McCracken County's economic development opportunities in addition to serving the needs of
areas without sewers thereby promoting growth to the entire community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah wants to cooperate in the future development of
Paducah and McCracken County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah realizes economic benefit from expanded
residential and commercial development throughout the county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky:
That the City of Paducah is willing to implement a consolidated county-wide sewer
district.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
~ ~ Paducah, Kentucky:

That the City of Paducah will meet with any committee or task force organized to
develop an implementation plan; and
That the City of Paducah will commit professional resources, including the City
Manager, City Engineer, City Planner, Finance Director and the Director of Sewage/Wastewater
Utility in the furtherance of these objectives.
