RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is in support of Alliant FoodService and their
proposal to add 88,500 squaze feet to their distribution facility located in Paducah. The $7.5
million expansion will allow Alliant to add 55 new jobs in two years bringing their total
employment to 175; and
/ WHEREAS, the City of Paducah agrees to waive one percent of the local
occupational wage tax on the new jobs created as required by the Kentucky Jobs Development
Act incentive program for a period often yeazs to the extent we aze able; and
WHEREAS, Alliant is also eligible to receive Enterprise Zone benefits which
requires the City to reduce the rate of local occupational tax from 1.5% to .75% on new hires for
a period of two years, effectively lowering the payroll taxes those new hires pay; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah requests the State match to remain at 4% for the
time these two incentive programs may overlap, taking into account the value of significant
infrastructure improvements the City is undertaking in order to assist with this expansion such as
a road closure and new roadway; and
WHEREAS, the City's contribution to this project in infrastructure costs would
offset the .25% of the local match required for Alliant FoodService to receive the full benefits of
both programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky:
Is in support of the Kentucky Jobs Development Act Program which would enable
Alliant FoodService to receive State incentives for this expansion, and at this time are taking
action for final approval.
