Whereas, the Jackson Purchase Resource Conservation and Development
Foundation, Inc., has three mission fields of natural resource conservation, improvement of the
quality of life and enhancing economic vitality of the eight western most countries of Kentucky.
Whereas, the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area under the
management of the Tennessee Valley Authority has brought many worthwhile resource .
conservation benefits, improvement of our quality of life and millions of dollars of economic
enhancement to the Jackson Purchase area of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Paducah Board of
Commissioners supports, requests, and recommends the continued and adequate funding of the
TVA non-power budget and the Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area.
And, therefore be it further resolved, that the Board of Commissioners supports

the continued operation of the Land Between the Lakes by the Tennessee Valley Authority.
