HomeMy WebLinkAboutAnimal Warden to Hazardous Duty Insurance Coverage 01/99RESOLUTION OF AGENCY TRANSFERRING COVERAGE FROM NONHAZARDOUS TO HAZARDOUS 328 At a meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, held on the 12th day of January, 1999, present and presiding was Mayor Albert Jones with the following members present: Commissioners Robert Coleman, William Paxton, Robert Smith, Jill Gott Wrye. Members Absent: None A motion was made by Commissioner Wrye and seconded by Commissioner Smith, that the following resolution be adopted in accordance with KRS '8.545 (31}: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The City of Paducah is transferring all eligible employees under the classification of Animal Warden in the Police Department from general coverage in the County Employees Retirement System to hazardous duty coverage for those hazardous duty positions within the same County Employees Retirement System, effective March 1, 1999. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commission of the City of Paducah as follows (A) That effective March 1, 1999 all employees working under the hazardous duty job classification of Animal Warden of the Police Department will transfer from the existing nonhazardous (general) coverage in the County Employees Retirement System to hazardous duty coverage with the same County Employees Retirement System. (B) Contributions to be paid are as follows: (1) 18.85% (current rate) of employee's gross wage to be paid by the employer (may be changed by the Board of Trustees of the Kentucky Retirement Systems). (2} 8.0% (current rate) of the employee's gross wages to be paid by the employees (maybe changed by the Kentucky General Assembly). FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Paducah will comply with all the statutory requirement to make the County Employees Retirement System hazardous duty coverage available for all eligible employees who are working under approved positions with the Police Department.
