RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is a vital hub in the Marine Industry on
the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers in this area; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Coast Guard, the Marine Industry and the Paducah
Fire Department, realize the continual need for improving fire protection; and
WHEREAS, the Marine Industry has agreed to provide funding for the
barge and equipment to be acquired and utilized by the Paducah Fire Barge Coalition, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, the Paducah Fire Barge Coalition, Inc., anon-profit
organization, will be a joint effort between the U.S. Coast Guard, the Marine Industry and
the Paducah Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, arrangements have been made for the Paducah Fire
Department to provide the manpower required for this venture at no additional cost to the
City of Paducah.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah declare their
~~-~ support of the City's participation in the proposed Paducah Fire Barge Coalition and
instruct City staff to prepare a contract for approval by the City Commission to provide
for the City's. participation.
