HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-1-7504ORDINANCE NO. 2009-1-7504 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER WITH C. H. JOHNSON CONSULTING, INC. FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT IMPLEMENTATION WHEREAS, the City adopted Ordinance No. 2008-2-7392, to execute a contract with C.H. Johnson Consulting, Inc., in the amount of $56,500.00, to complete a financial feasibility study for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District which is required by the State legislation when cities make application; and WHEREAS, the Paducah -McCracken County Convention Center Corporation entered into a separate contract with C. H. Johnson Consulting, Inc., for a feasibility study and appraisal for the Executive Inn project; and WHEREAS, it is now necessary for the initial study to be updated in order for the Convention Center's study to be completed; and WHEREAS, the C. H. Johnson Consulting, Inc., is providing proposed amendments to the operating lease for the Convention Center an increase in the amount of $35,000 is required, therefore, the total amount of the contract will be in the amount of $91,500. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized to execute a change order with C. H. Johnson Consulting, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $35,000.00 for updating the feasibility study for TIF districts and for providing proposed amendments to the operating lease for the convention center, increasing the total cost to $91,500.00. SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to account no. 080-4411-592-2307. SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist due to the necessity to complete renovations to the convention center for use in the 2009 visitor season and in particular the April 2009 Quilt Show of the American Quilt Society SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of this Ordinance. A TEST: (M" S- 6keek, Tammara S.
