AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH ACCEPTING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE GRANT AWARD FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME WITH THE OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, DEPARTMENT FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT FOR THE PADUCAH JACKSON
HOUSE ELEVATOR REHABILITATION PROJECT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT # 10-109
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Municipal Order No. 1559 on August 10,
2010, authorizing the application for a Community Development Block Grant in an amount up to
$1,000,000 from the Kentucky Department for Local Government for the Jackson House Elevator System
Project; and
WHEREAS, in 2011 the City of Paducah entered into a grant agreement stipulating that
the City be the award recipient on behalf of the facility owner, Western Kentucky Seniors Center Union
Labor Housing Corporation, for rehabilitation of two existing elevators and construction of a new multi-
service elevator; and
WHEREAS, the original grant agreement expired on December 30, 2013 and due to the
project being 75% complete a time extension was requested; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Department for Local Government has
approved a grant extension through December 31, 2014.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby accepts an amendment to the Grant
Agreement with the Office of the Governor, Department for Local Government to extend the project
completion date from December 31, 2013 to December 31, 2014, for the Paducah Jackson House
Elevator Rehabilitation Project Community Development Block Grant #10-109.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
