AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE CHANGE
ORDER NO. 1 WITH DS CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE FACILITY RENOVATION -
PHASE I OF THE JULIAN CARROLL CONVENTION CENTER PROJECT
u'h WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2008-10-7473 to enter into a
contract with DS Contractors, in the amount of $198,938.00 for the Facility Renovation -Phase I
of the Julian Carroll Convention Center project; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 is required for an increase in the amount of
$20,380.12 for conditions encountered upon the exposing of the ceilings and walls and allowance
for a deduction of $800.00 for unused wall repair, in order to finalize the project for the above
referenced contract, increasing the total contract price to $219768.12.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1
with DS Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $20,830.12 for demolition involved for the Facility
Renovation -Phase I of the Julian Carroll Convention Center project.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to project account no. PF0054,
SECTION 3. Due to the extremely limited time available for construction prior to
the 2009 Quilt Show an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become
effective immediately with one reading.
