AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH MARCUM ENGINEERING, LLC FOR
THE DESIGN SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION FOR THE FINAL
PHASE FOR THE JULIAN CARROLL CONVENTION CENTER RENOVATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City is actively seeking to sell the air dome and construction of a
new hotel is anticipated; and
WHEREAS, the City finds it necessary to provide additional convention center
space square footage for the dome; and
WHEREAS, to begin the final phase of the Julian Carroll Convention Center
Renovation Project it is necessary to hire an architect firm to provide design services and
construction administration for the renovations; and
WHEREAS, Marcum Engineering, LLC, has in its employ persons experienced in
this area of expertise.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized to
execute a Professional Services Agreement with Marcum Engineering, LLC, for professional
design services and construction administration for the renovation of the remaining areas of the
Julian Carroll Convention Center more specifically the kitchen area and the old hotel showroom.
Compensation shall be at a rate of 7.875% of construction cost and 6.3% of valued cost of any
work not constructed plus compensation for reimbursable expenses as outlined in the agreement.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Project Account
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
