HomeMy WebLinkAboutMillions in a Month Campaign to Fight Hunger in Kentuckyz24 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY ~~ ~~ SUPPORTING THE MILLIONS IN A MONTH CAMPAIGN TO FIGHT HUNGER IN KENTUCKY WHEREAS, nearly 20,000 people are homeless in Kentucky; and WHEREAS, more than one in five children in Kentucky is living in poverty; and WHEREAS, nearly one half of Kentucky's children live in families that are not financially self- sufficient; and WHEREAS, the majority of poor children live in urban areas; and WHEREAS, hunger is a problem for many of these and other Kentuckians across the Commonwealth. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, joins Kentucky Harvest and the Kentucky League of Cities in support of the Millions in a Month campaign to fight hunger in _ Kentucky during the month of March, 2006.
