Job Classification Descriptions

Commission Chambers at City Hall. at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 1989, Mayor
Montgomery presided, and upon call of the roll., the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Grumley, Leeper, and Mayor Montgomery (3). Commissioners
Coleman and Keeling were absent (2).
commissioner Leeper offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that
the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, August 15, 1989, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas
Commissioners Grumley, Leeper and Mayor Montgomery (3).
The Mayor announced that the first item on the agenda concerning refuse
recycling had been removed. Don Elias of PADD had called and requested that this
agenda item be withdrawn.
Heitman
Mayor Montgomery introduced Doug Shupe and Jenny Wallace/of Clemans,
Nelson and Associates. Also present with them was Joel Foster. Doug Shupe and
Heizman
Jenny Wallace/presented the class descriptions and reviewed them generally with the
Cortunission. They explained what a classification plan was and things they have
found throughout the City with the class descriptions. They proceeded to say that
these would be distributed to employees for a final appeal, and the Commission gave
them the go --ahead to do that.
The next item discussed concerning the job classification plan was where
does tyle City go once the classification plan is approved in terms of relating the
plan to salaries. The process was discussed, with Doug Shupe. explaining that they
would be using the Kentucky Municipal League data as a means of reviewing salaries
once the classification plan was completed. Mayor Montgomery thanked ,jenny and Doug
for attending.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was
adjourned.
