FOR THE FACILITY RENOVATION -PHASE I OF THE JULIAN CARROLL CONVENTION
CENTER PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of D S Contractors Inc., in
an amount not to exceed $198,938.00, for the Facility Renovation -Phase I of the Julian Carroll
Convention Center project, said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications,
and as contained in the bid of D S Contractors, Inc., of October 21, 2008.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with D S
Contractors, Inc., for the renovation project authorized in Section 1 above, according to the
specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in
the bid.
SECTION 3. Expenditures for this project shall be funded with debt issue.
SECTION 4. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the
requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds therefore, the
City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist in order to complete the renovation
project prior to the Quilter's Convention in April 2009.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of this
Ordinance.
