AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID FOR THE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL
INFIELD UPGRADES LOCATED IN NOBLE PARK, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
^` WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 2-645 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, the Parks Services Department received sealed bids on August 1, 2008, for
upgrades of the Noble Park baseball/softball fields; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 2-654(4) a & b of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that the
City does not have sufficient funds for the responsive and responsible bidder and that the best
interest of the city will not permit delay of this project by resolicitation; and
WHEREAS, competitive negotiations were entered into with the only bidder and
a revised bid was attained.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah authorizes the Mayor to execute a contract
with McKeel Equipment Company, Inc., for the baseball/softball infield upgrades located in
Noble Park in the amount of $50,000.00.
SECTION 2. Funding for the contract for the Noble Park baseball/softball infield
upgrades authorized in Section 1 above is pursuant to Ordinance No. 2008-6-7430, Section 3.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
