HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/18/90Proceedings of Board of Commissioners No. City of Paducah At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 1990, Mayor Montgomery presided, and upon call of the roll, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5). Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 1990, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5). Commissioner Leeper offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN COMCAST CABLE OF PADUCAH, INC. (A KENTUCKY CORPORATION) AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement between the City of Paducah and Comcast Cable of Paducah, Inc., extending the Franchise Agreement an additional 120 days to January 14, 1991. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5). Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Leeper, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LEVIES AND RATES OF TAXATION ON ALL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES FOR THE PERIOD FROM JULY 11 1990, THROUGH JUNE 30, 1991, WITH THE PURPOSES OF SAID TAXES THEREUNDER DEFINED". Setting the 1990-91 Tax Rate as follows: PURPOSE General Fund of the City Real Property Personal Property Other Municipal Purposes Public Library Real Estate Personal Property Appointive Employees Pension Fund Real Estate Personal Property Voted Bonds Sinking Fund for Retirement Real Property Personal Property RATE PER $100.00 $0.458 0.490 0.050 0.050 0.015 0.015 0.006 0.006 September 18, 1990 Extend Comcast Franchise Additional 120 Days to January 14, 199/. This ordinance is summarized as follows: Authorizing and directing the Mayor and City Clerk to convey by general warranty deed to the Bishop of Owensboro Diocese, or his assigns, certain real property located on Highland Boulevard in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and authorizing, empowering and directing the Corporation Counsel to prepare any and all documents necessary to effectuate said transfer. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5). Commissioner Leeper offered motion, seconded by Commis- Executive Session sioner Taylor, that the Board of Commissioners go into Executive Session for discussions which might lead to the appointment, disci- pline or dismissal of an individual employee, and to discuss liti- gation. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5). At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board held ti Workshop a Workshop.
