City of Paducah June 7 1990
At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Mayor's Office at City Hall
at 1:00 p.m., June 7, 1990, Mayor Montgomery presided, and upon call of the roll, the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5).
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 1990, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper,
Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (S).
Commissioner Taylor offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Leeper, that the Board
of Commissioners to into Executive Session for discussions which mibht lead to the appointment,
discipline or dismissal of an individual employee. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas,
Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5).
At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board reconvened in Open Session.
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley that the City of Paducah
employ James L. Pennington as City Manager at an annual salary of $50,000.00, effective June 18,
1990, and in accordance with the terns of an Employment Agreement executed by and between the
City of Paducah and James L. Pennington dated June 7, 1990. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas,
Commissioners Coleman, Grtunley, Leeper, Taylor and Mayor Montgomery (5).
There being no further business, and upon motion, the meeting adjourned.
