ORDINANCE NO. 2008-7-7446
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SLAVIN MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS
TO ASSIST THE CITY WITH RECRUITING AND SELECTING A NEW POLICE
CHIEF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute
a contract with Slavin Management Consultants in an amount not to exceed $30,000, for
services to assist the City of Paducah with recruiting and selecting a new Police Chief.
SECTION 2. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and directed to
transfer the sum of $30,000, from the Commission Contingency Fund to Services Other -
Personnel.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends
the requirement of a second reading and publication of this Ordinance. As grounds
therefore, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist as to the
execution of this Agreement date due to the resignation of the City's Police Chief being
effective August 6, 2008, and in order to allow the recruitment and selection process to
begin.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading
of this Ordinance.
