ORDINANCE NO. 91-10-4690
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18 OF ORDINANCE NO.
91-10-4679, WHICH SECTION RELATES TO THE DUE DATE OF THE FIRST
HALF PAYMENT OF TAXES LEVIED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WHEREAS, on the first day of October, 1991, the City

Commission did enact Ordinance No. 91-10-4679 wherein the
Commission did fix the levies and rates of taxation on all
property located in the City of Paducah; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18 of said ordinance,
the first half payment of the levied taxes are due on October
1, 1991, and are payable without penalty and interest until
October 31, 1991; and
WHEREAS, due to unforeseen circumstances, the City's
tax bills were mailed to the taxpayers after October 1, 1991;
and
WHEREAS, because of the delay in mailing, it is the
intent and desire of the City Commission to accord to the
taxpayers an additional period of time within which to pay
taxes without penalty and interest; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to KRS 92.590, the City Commission
has the statutory right to determine when taxes are due and
payable.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. Section 18 of Ordinance No. 91-10-4679 of
the Paducah Code of Ordinances shall be amended to read as
follows:
"The first half payment shall be due on October 1,
1991, and shall be payable without penalty and
interest until 00U)W/BX November 15, 1991.
"The second half payment shall be due on April 1,
1992, and shall be payable without penalty and
interest until April 30, 1992."
SECTION 2. All other sections of the aforesaid
ordinance shall remain in full legal force and effect.
SECTION 3. An emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall become effective immediately with one
reading. This emergency is declared for reason that in the
event the Board of Commissioners were to delay the effective
date of this ordinance, the tax bills by the previous ordinance
would accrue penalty and interest from and after October 31,
1991, until the effective date of this ordinance.
