AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MORRISON CONTRACTORS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF DIRT FOR FILL MATERIAL FOR THE LANDFILL AT $2.43 PER
CUBIC YARD DELIVERED, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF UP TO AN ADDITIONAL
$10,000 WORTH OF DIRT FOR THE LANDFILL, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY;
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of
Morrison Contractors for the purchase of dirt for fill material for the
landfill at $2.43 per cubic yard delivered, said bid being in sub-
stantial compliance with the bid specifications and advertisement for
bids as was authorized by Municipal Order passed by the.Board of
Commissioners on February 23, 1988, and as contained in the bid of
Morrison Contractors, dated March 3, 1988.
SECTION 2. That the City Treasurer be authorized to pay up
to $10,000 for an additional purchase of dirt for fill material for the
landfill at $2.43 per cubic yard, delivered.
SECTION 3. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a
contract with Morrison Contractors for sale to the City of dirt for
fill material as authorized in Sections 1 and 2 above, according to the
specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore
approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 4. This expenditure shall be charged to Account No.
10-500-420-710.
SECTION 4. In order to meet state guidelines for covering
the landfill, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall become effective with one reading.
