ORDINANCE NO. 89-5-4245
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE CITY
OF PADUCAH AND VANGUARD CONTRACTORS, INC. AND MIDSTATES
CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR RENOVATIONS TO CITY HALL
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah entered into
contracts with Vanguard Contractors, Inc. and Midstates
"Ile Construction, Inc. for miscellaneous renovations to City
Hall by Ordinance No. 88-1-4008, dated January 12, 1988; and
WHEREAS, various change orders to these contracts
were authorized by the Mayor and Commissioners.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah amend the amounts
of the contract with Vanguard Contractors, Inc. to
$284,102.09 from $241,750.00 on Base Bid No. I, and to
$22,594.10 from $20,995.00 on Base Bid No. III, and amend
the amount of the contract with Midstates Construction; Inc.
to $81,231.53 from $48,338.00.
SECTION 2. The miscellaneous renovations as

authorized in the contract documents according to the
specifications, bid proposals, contract documents and change
orders heretofore approved shall not exceed the amended
amounts contained in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3. The expenditures for said improvements
shall be charged to the KML Lease Pool Account, or accounts
assigned at the discretion of the City Manager.
SECTION 4. In order to avoid payment of penalty
and interest on the amounts due and payable, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance shall become effective
immediately with one reading.
