ORDINANCE NO. 91-12-4703
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF REAL
PROPERTY LOCATED ON NORTH SIXTH STREET FOR THE BENEFIT OF
PADUCAH WATER WORKS
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Water Works by
Resolution dated November 15, 1991, recommended the City of
Paducah purchase real property located on North Sixth
Street, for the sum of Sixteen Thousand ($16,000.00)
Dollars, for the use and benefit of Paducah Water Works; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Water Works have /
declared the purchase of this property to be in the best
interest of the City of Paducah and Paducah Water Works, to
be held for purposes of future expansion of the waterworks.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby authorizes
and directs the Mayor to execute and the Corporation Counsel
to approve a deed for the purchase of property located on
North Sixth Street in the amount of $16,000.00, for the
benefit of Paducah Water Works.
SECTION 2. This property is more particularly
described as follows:
Being Lot No. 37, containing 13 acres; lot 47,
containing 13.54 acres; and Lot 57 containing 14
acres; all of said lots being in addition "F" to
the City of Paducah, as shown on map of the City.
For a more complete description of said lots,
reference is hereby made to plat in Deed Book "0",
page 230, McCracken County Clerk's Office.
Being in all respects the same property conveyed
to Christine Alliston, by deed dated December 29,
1938, and recorded in Deed Book 201, page 173,
McCracken County Clerk's Office. Christine M.
Alliston, an unmarried person, died July 17, 1990,
and pursuant to her Last Will and Testament
probated August 15, 1990, of record in Deed Book
"PP", page 541, aforesaid Clerk's Office, said
property was devised to Emily Duly Greider,
Adeline Duley, Henrietta Kuhl Edwards, Shirley Lay
and Kestner Lay. (Kestner Lay predeceased
Christine M. Alliston, and his only heirs at law
are Owen W. Lay, Nancy Lay Holland, Evelyn Lay
Fink and Richard C. Lay, all records of the
McCracken County Clerk's Office.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon summary
publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. Wbk\
