AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 92-6-4783
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 96-6-4783, adopted on June
30, 1992, the City of Paducah authorized a construction
contract between the City and B.H. Green & Son in the amount of
$1,150,000.00 for additions and modifications of the Julian M.
Carroll Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to increase the
amount of this contract to allow the for the use of contingency
funds for itemized construction activities.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah approves the use of
the sum of $50,000.00 originally set aside for contingency in
the Convention Center Construction Project, and a donation in
an amount not to exceed $6,792.00 from the Paducah -McCracken
County Convention Center Board, to be used for itemized
construction activities of the Julian M. Carroll Convention
Center.
SECTION 2. The Mayor Protem is hereby authorized to
execute a construction contract with B.H. Green and Son in an
amount not to exceed $1,206,792.00 for additions and
modifications of the Julian M. Carroll Convention Center.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to
Account No. 01-88-20-466.
SECTION 4. In order to award this contract on an
expedited basis so as to take full advantage of summer
construction weather, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance will become effective immediately with one
reading.
