ORDINANCE NO. 92-4-4753
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH McCRACKEN COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY, INC.
WHEREAS, the Society maintains a humane animal
shelter in McCracken County, Kentucky, which shelter has
sufficient facilities to humanely house lost and stray dogs and
other animals; and
WHEREAS, it is the belief of the city that stray or
lost dogs and other animals constitute a nuisance to the City
and the citizens therein, which nuisance the City seeks to
abate through the capture of such stray or lost dogs and other
animals, and the ultimate humane sheltering of such animals;
and
WHEREAS, the City desires that the Society perform ✓
part of the abatement of such nuisance by providing a humane
shelter for captured stray or lost dogs and other animals, to
which Society is agreeable; and
WHEREAS, the parties have come to an agreement in
regard to the provision of such services by the Society, and do
now hereby desire to formalize such agreement in writing.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute
an Agreement with McCracken County Humane Society, Inc. for
providing a humane shelter for captured stray or lost dogs and
other animals. This Agreement is attached hereto and
incorporated by reference as if set out in its entirety.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon summary
publicationpursuant to KRS Chapter 424
