ORDINANCE NO. 92-11-4868
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.2 OF CHAPTER 4, ANIMALS
AND FOWL, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sec. 4.2, Keeping of swine prohibited; exception, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
w Q (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to keep any hogs or
swine in any manner whatsoever within the corporate limits
of the city; provided, however, that hogs for immediate
shipment or for immediate slaughter can be kept not to
exceed seventy-two (72) hours, and then only in such
places as have cement floors, such floor to be washed
once in every twenty-four (24) hours and so arranged and
built that the drainage from washing the floor does not
stand or become stagnant or soak into the ground around
the floor, but drains away in such a manner as to keep the
ground in a sanitary condition at all times.
(b) Notwithstanding the foregoing, and as an exception
thereto, this section shall not apply to the keeping of not
more than two () Asian Pot -Bellied swine, subject to the
following conditions:
1. Each pot-bellied swine shall be a pet, that
is to be kept for personal enjoyment and not
kept or raised for human consumption.
2. Each pot-bellied swine shall be registered
through a bona -fide registry firm.
3. Each pot-bellied swine shall not exceed 75
pounds in weight and 20 inches in height.
4. There shall not be more than two (2) pot-
bellied swine of more than three months of
age per residence.
(c) Any person who violates this section shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any
sum not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00)ep r day
per violation.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
