AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-87 "TIME OF
REGULAR MEETINGS", SECTION 2-88 "SPECIAL OR
CALLED MEETINGS", AND SECTION 2-89, "CLOSING,
PREPARATION, DISTRIBUTION, ETC., OF AGENDA"
OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH.
WHEREAS, Sections 2-87, 2-88 and 2-89, of Chapter 2 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah make certain
provisions for the meetings of the Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners desires to amend
the provisions;
KENTUCKY:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
SECTION 1. Section 2-87., "Time of regular
meetings.", is hereby amended to read as follows:
The regular meetings of the Board of
Commissioners shall be held at City Hall,
unless otherwise noticed, and shall commence
at 7 p.m., on the first four (4) Tuesdays of
each month, except when a meeting falls on a
legal holiday, then the regular meeting will
be held on the following day at the same
hour.
SECTION 2. Section 2-88., "Special or called
meetings.", is hereby amended to read as follows:
Special or called meetings may be held upon
the request of the Mayor or three members of
the Board of Commissioners if written notice
and the agenda thereof is delivered to each
member or to his or her residence or business
address; is also posted in City Hall and in
the building where the meeting is to take
place and the media is notified as required
by the Kentucky Open Meeting Law. Notice
shall be calculated to be received twenty-

four (24) hours prior to the special or
called meeting. Executed or accepted notices
shall be filed with the City Clerk and spread
upon the minutes.
SECTION 3. Section 2-89., "Closing, Preparation,
Distribution of Agenda.", is hereby amended to read as follows:

The time period for submitting matters for �-
the agenda of a regular meeting of the Board
of Commissioners shall be closed by the City
Clerk at 12:00 Noon on the Monday which is
the eighth (8th) day prior to the specified
meeting date. In the event the aforesaid
Monday is a legal holiday, then the City
Clerk shall close the agenda at 12:00 Noon on
the Tuesday which is the seventh (7th) day
before the specified meeting date. After
closing the agenda, the City Clerk shall
promptly put the agenda in written form and
send a copy, together with relevant items and:O
the City Manager's recommendations, to the
Board of Commissioners.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon publication of the
title and certified summary thereof.
