ORDINANCE NO. 90-03-4382
AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 32-5., AND
AMENDING SECTION 32-5.5. OF CHAPTER 32 WATER AND SEWERS,
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That a new section, 32-5., is
hereby created to read as follows:
"Sec. 32-5. Connection requirements.
No connection to the city sewer system shall be
allowed by a property owner or licensed plumber until a
connection permit has been obtained from the city
engineer's office. All required tap on fees shall be paid
at the office of the Citv Enaineer before a construction
ermit will be issued."
SECTION 2. That Section 32-5.5 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 32-5.5. Prohibited sewer deposits._:.
(b) All fees for sewer connections shall be
paid at the office of the city engineer.
Where new construction is involved, payment shall be made
At/tY.¢/tJOO before a building permit is obtained. The
city ¢¢ engineer and chief building�igl/¢¢¢�'¢
inspector shall coordinate their activities and offices to
ensure compliance.
(e) In the event any person has connected or
connects to the city sanitary sewers without paying the
appropriate sewer connection fee to the city, in addition
to such fee, such person shall be obligated to pay to the
city a sum equal to $250.00 and additionally, shall pay to

the city all charges that the city would have otherwise
collected for the period of time that such person used the
city sanitary sewers by virtue of the sewer connection,
plus penalty and interest, which sewer charges, penalty
and interest shall be calculated in conformance with the
applicable city rates for that period of time.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon publication
of title and a certified summary thereof.
