AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF JIM SMITH CONTRACTING
COMPANY, INC. FOR THE CITY'S 2008 CALENDAR YEAR STREET RESURFACING
PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR
SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of Jim Smith Contracting
Company, Inc. for the City's 2008 calendar year resurfacing program, said bid being in
substantial compliance with the bid specifications and advertisement for bids, and as contained in
the bid of Jim Smith Contracting Company, Inc. of July 9, 2008.
SECTION 2. The City of Paducah accepts the bid of Jim Smith Contracting
Company, Inc. for roadway resurfacing, repair, and miscellaneous construction of various streets
at the following hourly rates:

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Jim
Smith Contracting Company, Inc. for roadway resurfacing, repair, and miscellaneous
construction of various streets as set out in Sections 1 and 2 above, according to the
specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in
the bid.

SECTION 4. This expenditure shall be charged to the Street Rehabilitation
