AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A 114
GRANT APPLICATION FOR UP TO $10,000.00 IN MATCHING FUNDS FROM
THE KENTUCKY DIVISION OF FORESTRY'S AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL -URBAN
„T FORESTRY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF INITIATING A
CITY TREE INVENTORY AND FOR ASSISTANCE IN FUNDING THE CITY
FORESTER POSITION
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Division of Forestry's America
the Beautiful -Urban Forestry Assistance Program is accepting
grant applications for selected projects in Kentucky cities for
up to $10,000.00 in funds which, if approved, will be made
available on a 50/50 matching basis, for the purpose of
initiating a city tree inventory and assistance in funding the
city forester's position; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is eligible for said
funds and is desirous of submitting a grant application for
same;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and hereby is,
authorized to execute a grant application for up to $10,000.00
in matching funds from the Kentucky Division of Forestry's
America the Beautiful -Urban Forestry Assistance Program for the
purpose of initiating a city tree inventory and assistance in
funding the city forester's position.
SECTION 2. Any expenditure required as a result of
the award of the grant aforesaid, if such an award results,
shall be charged to Account No.
SECTION 3. An emergency is hereby declared to exist
due to the closing date for acceptance of the grant application
being April 5, 1993. Therefore, this ordinance shall have one
reading and become effective upon passage. A summary of this
ordinance shall be published pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
