AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR PRO
TEM TO EXECUTE A GRANT APPLICATION FOR
UP TO $10,000.00 IN MATCHING FUNDS FROM
THE KENTUCKY DIVISION OF FORESTRY AND
THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FOR
THE PURPOSE OF INITIATION OF A TREE
PLANTING PROJECT IN NOBLE PARK, PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Division of Forestry and the
Small Business Administration are currently accepting grant
applications from Kentucky cities for up to $10,000.00 in
funds which, if approved, will be made available on a 50/50
matching basis, for the purpose of initiating tree planting
on public lands; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is eligible for said
funds and is desirous of submitting a grant proposal for
same;
KENTUCKY:
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
SECTION 1. That the Mayor Pro Tem be, and hereby
is, authorized to execute a grant application for up to
$10,000.00 in matching funds from the Kentucky Division of
Forestry and Small Business Administration for the purpose
of initiation of a tree planting project in Noble Park,
Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. Any expenditure required as a result
of the award of the grant aforesaid, if such an award
results, shall be charged to Account No. 01-24-02-332.
SECTION 3. This ordinance will be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon publication of
title and a certified summary thereof.
