ORDINANCE NO. 93-6-4959
AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING AN ARTS
RESOURCES ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established an
Arts Resources Advisory Committee, consisting of 21 members.'
' SECTION 2. The members of said Committee shall be named
by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of
Commissioners. Members representing the following segments of the
community shall serve a one year term: arts advocate, arts
volunteer, older person, the media, a student, and a writer.
Members representing business, African-Americans, Asians and the
women's and medical communities shall serve a two year term.
Members serving a three year term will represent arts
organizations, religion, banking, the disabled, individual
artists, the Paducah school system and the accounting and legal
communities.
SECTION 3. This Committee shall assist Office staff in
assessing needs of the arts community, designing projects to meet
those needs and in raising funds for such projects. In addition,
the Committee will provide outreach and act as an advocate for
the arts in the Paducah area.
SECTION 4. The members of this Committee shall serve
without compensation from the City, may not incur any
indebtedness to be paid by the City and the City shall not be
responsible for any debts incurred by the Committee.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon summary publication
pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
