AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF PEEL &
HOLLAND, INC., FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE
WHEREAS, the City requested bids from various insurance providers
regarding insurance coverage, including general liability and law enforcement liability
coverage; and
WHEREAS, Peel & Holland, Inc., has submitted a bid which is
acceptable to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah, as follows:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby accept the
bid of Peel & Holland for insurance coverage for the City of Paducah, Kentucky, which
coverage shall include and not be limited to general liability and law enforcement
liability insurance coverage.
SECTION 2. The mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby
authorized to consummate purchase of the aforesaid insurance coverage and to
execute any documents which are necessary thereto.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission
suspends the requirement of a second reading of this Ordinance. As grounds
therefor, the City Commission does hereby declare an emergency to exist as to
procurement of the aforesaid insurance coverage. Specifically, the present insurance
coverage is to expire, and it is necessary to immediately procure the aforesaid
insurance coverage so as to provide continuity of insurance coverage. Accordingly,
this ordinance shall become effective upon the first reading of this ordinance and
publication of same.
