ORDINANCE RO. 88-8 -
AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING THE ANNEXATION OF A TRACT OF LAND
SOUTH OF :THE PRESENT CITY LI.MITS AND BETWEEN.LONE OAK ROAD AND NORTH
FRIENDSHIP ROAD
WHEREAS, a tract of property south.of and adjacent to the
present city limits, between the .Lone Oak Road (U.S.. 45) and North
Friendship -Road, -is urban :in character and suitable for development for
urban purposes without unreasonable delay; and.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is not within the boundary of ,.
another incorporated city; and
WHEREAS, the City,of.Paducah.has adopted zoning .regulations
and has requested the Planning Commission of the City of Paducah to
hold a public hearing and make recommendations to the City as to zoning
that will be effective for the proposed annexed area; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission adopted .a resolution
containing the final report:of the Paducah Planning Commission on the
proposed annexat.ion:_of..property locate& between_Lone Oak Road (U.S. 45) _
and North Friendship Road and recommended that the portion of the land
immediately adjoining.the city limits and presently occupied by
Mount Kenton Cemetery and Temple Israel Cemetery be zoned R-2
(Low/Medium Density Residential), and.the tracts of.land south of the
cemeteries and owned by Paducah Power System and Columbia Amusement
Company, Inc. be. zoned HBD (Highway Business District) .upon annexation
to the City, as more fully set out on the map attached to the report of
the Paducah Planning Commission.
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Paducah to annex the
areas more fully set forth hereinafter under the provisions of the
Kentucky Revised Statutes Section 81A.420.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby states its intent to
annex unincorporated territory into the City of Paducah, said territory
is adjacent to and contiguous with the southerly boundary of the City
of Paducah and between Lone Oak Road (U.S. 45) and North Friendship
Road, more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of the north right-of-way
of Bleich Road and the east right-of-way of U.S. 45 at
the existing city limits of Paducah; thence in a
southerly direction along the east right-of-way line of
U.S. 45, a distance of 1740 feet; thence in a
northwesterly direction crossing U.S. 45, a distance of
80 feet to the northeast corner of New Lot No. 1 as
shown by plat of record in Plat Section "J", page 884 of
the McCracken County Clerk's office; thence N. 60
degrees, 21 feet and 05 minutes W. along and with the
northerly line of said New Lot No. 1, a distance of 35
feet; thence continuing along said lot line N. 36
degrees, 46 minutes 25 seconds E. a distance of 15.74
feet; thence N. 60 degrees, 21 minutes 05 seconds W. a
distance of 81.03 feet to the beginning of a curve
having a radius length of 200 feet, a chord length of
77.26 feet; and a bearing on the chord of N. 71 degrees,
29 minutes and 172 seconds W.; thence along the arc of
said curve concave to the south and continuing along the
northerly line of the aforesaid New Lot No. 1, a
distance of 77.75 feet to the end of said curve; thence
N. 82 degrees 37 minutes 30 seconds W. a distance of
368.09 feet to the northwest corner of said New Lot No.
1; thence S. 07 degrees 22 minutes 30 seconds W. along
and with the westerly line of said lot, 200 feet to the
south property line of the Columbia Amusement Company
property of record in Deed Book 172, page 576, of the
aforesaid clerk's office; thence in a westerly direction
along and with said southerly property line, a distance
of 550 feet to the east right-of-way line of North
Friendship Road; thence in a northerly direction along
the east right-of-way line of North Friendship Road a
distance of 1706 feet to the existing city limits;
thence in an easterly direction along the existing city
limits a distance of 1350 feet to a point; thence in a
northerly direction along the existing city limits line
368 feet to a point; thence in an easterly direction
along the existing city limits a distance of 945 feet to
the east right-of-way line of U.S. 45; thence in a
southerly direction along the existing city limits, also
the east right-of-way line of U.S. 45, a distance of 450
feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The Board of Commissioners hereby adopts the
recommendations of the Planning Commission of the City of Paducah and
states its intent to zone the two cemeteries R-2, Low/Medium Density
Residential, and the parcels of land owned by Columbia Amusement
Company, Inc. and Paducah Power System will be zoned HBD, Highway
Business District, as more fully set forth on the map attached hereto.
SECTION 3. The Corporation Counsel shall caused to be
published in The Paducah Sun all necessary notices required by Kentucky
Revised Statutes Section 81A.420, advising resident voters and owners
of real property within the limits of the territory proposed to be
annexed of their right to petition the City in opposition to the
proposal within sixty (60) days of the publication of this ordinance
and their right to an election should a petition be filed.

and shall be published by summary hereof, including the map attached
hereto.
