ORDINANCE NO. 88-11-4168
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32-83.1, EXCESSIVE
STRENGTH SURCHARGE, OF CHAPTER 32, WATER AND SEWERS, OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sec. 32-83.1, Excessive strength
surcharge, be amended to read as follows:
"When an industrial user is allowed by its dis-
charge permit to discharge compatible pollutants in excess
of the limits established in Section 32-6.5, the industry
shall be assessed a monthly surcharge in addition to the
standard sewer rates. The surcharge rate shall be updated
annually and shall be based on a twelve-month average cost
to treat one pound of compatible pollutant. The surcharge
shall be at the rate of 5.1 cents ($0.051) per pound of
compatible pollutant.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon publication in
full.
