ORDINANCE NO. 88-11-4159
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING SPECIAL RATE ADDENDUM FROM
BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF KENTUCKY, INC., ESTABLISHING
THE BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD MAJOR MEDICAL RATES FOR THE
CITY OF PADUCAH EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 1988
WHEREAS, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky,
Inc. have proposed to change the rates charged for Blue
Cross coverage, Blue Shield coverage, and major medical
coverage, effective December 1, 1988; and
WHEREAS, at the City's request, Blue Cross and
Blue Shield have submitted a Special Rate Addendum.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Special Rate Addendum dated
November 11, 1988, from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Kentucky, Inc., which is incorporated herein as if set out
in full, which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby
accepted by the City of Paducah.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign
on behalf of the City of Paducah the Special Rate Addendum
signed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky, Inc. on
November 11, 1988.
SECTION 3. The City Treasurer is hereby
authorized to pay to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky,
Inc. $87.46 per month for each single contract and the sum
of $244.76 per month for each family contract.
SECTION 4. Since the Blue Cross and Blue Shield
of Kentucky, Inc. contract with the City of Paducah expires
on December 1, 1988, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this ordinance shall be passed upon one reading.
SECTION 5. A summary of this ordinance shall be
published in The Paducah Sun.
